Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is faced with a border collie suffering from significant pain and a concerning lump on its ankle. Unfortunately, the dog's healing process takes an unexpected turn, presenting numerous challenges. Meanwhile, a short-haired cat comes into the clinic with a painful hip injury from a jump off the sofa, leading to the possibility of a hip replacement. Additionally, a golden Labrador is swiftly brought to Fitzpatrick's sister clinic in Guildford, where a troubling lump has developed on its side.
