Host Kevin O'Connor arrives just as homeowner George Mabry is packing up to leave, with general contractor Tom Silva stepping in. Armed with a building permit, Tom begins the project by carefully dismantling the carport to improve access to the home. Meanwhile, Kevin meets landscape architect Gregory Lombardi to assess the outdoor space, determining that although some parts of the backyard are salvageable, much of it requires a complete overhaul. Master carpenter Norm Abram collaborates with project architect Will Ruhl at a contemporary home on Martha's Vineyard. Back in Cambridge, Will unveils his design for George’s house, featuring computer renderings and a 3-D model that incorporate a Modern aesthetic softened by a palette of natural materials.
