S3E20 The Election

In a bid to embarrass him, the older boys at Walnut Grove school decide to nominate the kind-hearted Elmer Dobkins for class president against the well-liked Mary Ingalls and the affluent Nellie Oleson. While Mary and Nellie campaign with promises of treats like popcorn and gum balls, Mr. Dobkins becomes upset after witnessing the bullying directed at Elmer. Furious upon learning the true reason for his son's nomination, he insists that Elmer withdraw from the race. However, as election day arrives and the contest is neck-and-neck, a harsh incident and tired classmates sway the final result.
