In December 1988, shortly after departing from London Heathrow, Pan Am flight 103 tragically detonated over Lockerbie, Scotland, resulting in the deaths of 270 individuals. Subsequent investigations revealed that a bomb hidden in the front cargo area was responsible for the catastrophic incident.
