Manchester is rapidly evolving, with its population set to double in the next five years. Amidst the impressive skyline, the city’s billion-pound growth isn’t benefiting everyone. Local tycoon Tim is transforming the red-light district into a trendy residential area, but faces several hurdles. As the mayor's lead fundraiser for a homeless charity, he also organizes a concert to support the city’s night shelters. Meanwhile, newcomer Helen, fresh from a divorce, arrives with over a million to invest in a penthouse to accommodate her extensive designer wardrobe. On the outskirts in Salford, single mother Christina struggles to stay in the neighborhood she grew up in, as rising prices force her to find a new place for herself and her two young kids.
