Harry Grout soon intervenes, claiming that the match is rigged. Meanwhile, a rival of Grout's becomes interested in Godber’s opponent, creating a scenario where victory seems impossible for anyone. Undeterred, Fletcher devises a plan to turn the tide in his favor.
