Dirk is called to investigate the death of David Edwards, who had claimed the Pentagon was after him. David's widow enlists Dirk's help, revealing that her husband was developing highly classified software that could pose a serious threat if it were misused. Dirk suspects a link to another case involving Emma Reynolds, whose unfaithful husband, Oliver, is fixated on the accuracy of his horoscopes. After proving that the horoscopes are a scam, Dirk delves deeper to uncover the true motives behind Edwards' murder.
