Harm, alongside Lt. Pike and Cdr. Brockman, delves into the murder of a Navy officer involved in developing a new defensive system for a destroyer. As they investigate, a serious malfunction arises during the system's testing, causing it to seize control of the ship. With navigation systems rendered useless, the vessel heads straight toward North Korean waters, where the North Korean Navy lies in wait. Meanwhile, Meg arrives on the scene and collaborates with other technicians to hack the system and restore control over the compromised ship. The events unfold in Okinawa, Japan, and the Japanese Sea.
