After losing her husband, Carolyn Muir relocates to Gull Cottage on the Maine coast with her two small children, their dog, and a housekeeper. However, she is unaware that the cottage is already occupied by the spirit of its previous owner, Captain Daniel Gregg. He is a likable yet slightly bothersome ghost who finds himself uncertain about sharing his home with Carolyn and her family.
