Diana makes the bold choice to pursue a career in politics and announces her candidacy as an independent for the Residents' Party. Meanwhile, Baines is encouraged to run for the Tories, prompting Tom to join the fray for some amusement. When Baines threatens to fire care worker Jenny, Diana is pressured to withdraw her candidacy. However, she cleverly turns the situation to her advantage, ensuring that Baines's political ambitions are derailed as well, marking the end of his career before it even begins.
