Drew and Oswald purchase their engagement rings, with Drew intending to propose to Nicki during a dinner where he’ll meet her parents for the first time. However, when Nicki gets trapped at her sister's place due to a snowstorm, Drew finds himself dining alone with the Fifers. The evening turns uncomfortable as they criticize Drew for their daughter's perceived faults, leading to a heated argument about their own troubled marriage. In the chaos, Mrs. Fifer declares her intention to leave, while Mr. Fifer seeks Drew's assistance in finding new romantic interests.
