James Travis Clark, a young boxing contender from Richmond, comes to Walton's Mountain in search of employment. He takes up residence in the Walton barn as he prepares for his upcoming match. Initially, Grandma and Olivia are troubled by this arrangement, but their concerns shift when they discover that James is actually a minister.
