Amid emotional farewells, the members of the 38th Rescue Squadron at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia depart, heading to a conflict zone in Afghanistan. A rookie, just 22 years old, faces a critical challenge when a soldier suffers a serious gunshot wound to the chest and is fighting for his life. Meanwhile, back at the base, a man preparing to become a father for the first time eagerly awaits news from his wife about their baby's gender. Just as the big moment arrives, he is called away for a rescue operation.
