S1E3 The Locked Room

A concealed image in the charred remains of a church directs Cohle and Hart to Joel Theriot, a tent-revival preacher whose followers mention a scarred "tall man" associated with Dora Lange. During interrogation, a sex offender who fits the description tries to confess but is swiftly disregarded by Cohle. Meanwhile, Hart gets distracted when Maggie introduces Cohle to a friend at a country and western bar. Determined to uncover a murder pattern, Cohle dives into past case files and discovers a link to a woman believed to have drowned long ago.
