S1E1 The Gathering Darkness

In 1935 Berlin, the Weisses, a Jewish family, joyfully commemorate the wedding of their son Karl to Inga Helms, a Christian. Meanwhile, Erik Dorf struggles to secure a position as a lawyer, prompting his wife, Marta, to suggest he take a job within the Nazi regime. Concerned for the Weisses, Erik warns Dr. Weiss to flee Germany. Tragedy strikes when Karl is arrested and sent to Buchenwald concentration camp, while Dr. Weiss faces deportation to Poland. Undeterred, Erik continues to climb the ranks of the Nazi hierarchy.
