In Los Angeles, Jarod takes on the role of a lawyer to assist a man unjustly convicted of murder, targeting the smug attorney who defends the true perpetrator. Simultaneously, Sydney is negotiating with The Centre, seeking to strike a deal that would exchange a fragment of Jarod's history for access to some of his simulations.
