As Voight delves into the homicide of a young boy, he discovers a startling link to a weapon tied to a case from 17 years prior. The boy’s father, a well-known defense attorney, pushes to have the investigation handed over to the Area Central Homicide unit. Meanwhile, Voight revisits the cold case, all while being monitored by his ex-partner, Lieutenant Denny Woods, who keeps a close eye on his every move.
