Taggart and his partner Peter Livingstone are summoned to look into the gruesome murder of a wealthy landowner's wife, whose strangled body is discovered submerged in a reservoir, weighed down by luggage. The husband was reportedly last seen getting ready for a trip to Switzerland, carrying a substantial amount of cash in a holdall.
