Mrs. Drysdale's father shows up and finds himself low on funds. Upon learning that Jed from next door is wealthy, he decides to drop in for a poker game. At first, Mrs. Drysdale's father is on a winning streak, but when Granny joins in, she quickly takes all the winnings. Later, he challenges Jed to a game of pool, but luck isn't on his side, and he ends up losing once more.
