Ted finds himself oscillating between the present and his recollections, prompting both him and his family to confront their altered circumstances. At the same time, Julie is thankful for the diversion of assisting Nathan, who is struggling to balance his demanding sales job with the challenges of single fatherhood. However, Nathan feels increasingly annoyed by Julie's well-meaning interventions, as he prefers to navigate parenting on his own terms.
