Maximilian successfully rescues Polheim and eliminates the conspirators threatening them. To put to rest the gossip surrounding their first-born's gender, Maximilian and Marie publicly baptize their son. However, as the ducal family departs the cathedral, Maximilian is unexpectedly attacked and narrowly avoids death. Shortly after this harrowing incident, he faces off against the young French Prince Charles in the Battle of Guinegate.
