In the aftermath of public prosecutor Peter Schultz's shocking murder, it becomes evident that Emilie Zeuthen's abductor is desperate to settle an outstanding debt. Unfortunately, the police struggle to understand the motives behind the crime. Meanwhile, Lund and Mathias Borch work together to unravel the case, and Lund unexpectedly reaches out to her son Mark in an attempt to mend their relationship. As the prime minister's team works to minimize his public exposure regarding the kidnapping, new and troubling developments arise, complicating the focus on the upcoming election campaign.
