George's inability to empathize with Alex after his girlfriend breaks up with him results in Alex's suicide attempt. In an effort to make amends, George finds himself caught in a web of lies when Alex invents a sensational news story. This fabrication ultimately leads to George securing a lucrative book deal based on the whole experience.
