Geoff gets drawn back into the Cochrane family's world when he receives an enigmatic phone call that leads him to Melbourne. There, he meets the elderly Old Ma Cochrane, mother of the legendary racehorses Carbine and Phar Lap. At 91 years old, she expresses a deep desire to return to the Crossing, feeling that it's the place where she wishes to spend her final days.
