Meanwhile, Melinda, watching the interactions between Payne, Elliot, and herself, expresses her desire to start a family with Jim. Later, Melinda consults Carl, the detective she hired to locate her estranged father. As Carl stops by to share his findings, an unexpected incident unfolds during their conversation.
