Peter hurries to Rolland Norris' farm for a lambing emergency. Upon his arrival, he finds that a ewe is struggling with a prolapse during labor. Later, he encounters a goat named Buddy at the practice in Thirsk, who is there for the much-dreaded neutering. What seems straightforward turns complicated as Peter realizes Buddy's anatomy isn't quite typical, requiring surgical intervention. Meanwhile, in Boroughbridge, Julian is tending to the spoiled pug Ffion, who has overdone it during playtime and suffered a severe leg fracture. Julian faces a challenging task of attaching a plate to the bones for proper healing.
