In the opening episode, Beck's training with Tron is cut short when a Recognizer patrol captures him and takes him to the Coliseum for the brutal games. There, he encounters Cutler, a fierce warrior program who admires The Renegade’s bravery. United by their desire for freedom, Beck and Cutler battle through the perilous disc games to escape. Meanwhile, Zed and Mara venture out for a night of fun but face complications when an enchanted Zed is drawn away by Perl, a program from the wrong side of the tracks, voiced by Kate Mara.
