His inquiries lead him to reconnect with Marcel, his former mentee, who now rules the city's humans and supernaturals with unchallenged authority. Eager to assist his brother in seeking redemption, Elijah follows Klaus and discovers that Hayley is also in the French Quarter, searching for her roots, but she has been captured by a formidable witch named Sophie.
