Feeling lost and desperate after leaving the hospital, Caroline heads to the Mystic Falls Carnival to join her friends. Damon is eager to intervene, but Stefan and Elena step in to protect her. Meanwhile, Matt is baffled by Caroline’s actions but musters the courage to express his feelings for her. Damon grows suspicious of Tyler’s Uncle Mason and, leveraging Tyler’s unpredictable nature, tries to coax Mason into disclosing his hidden truths. Frustrated by the chaos surrounding her, Bonnie directs her rage at Damon.
