In 1987, a group of Cuban inmates at the Atlanta Federal Prison staged a rebellion, crafting makeshift weapons to seize control from the guards. The situation escalated rapidly as the prisoners took over multiple facilities, holding over 100 staff members as hostages. In response, the FBI stepped in to engage in negotiations with the insurgents in an effort to peacefully resolve the crisis and restore order.
