On June 21, 1964, three civil rights activists vanished in Mississippi while attempting to empower African Americans with knowledge about their voting rights. The FBI managed to cultivate a relationship with a key informant, whose revelations ultimately resulted in the conviction of seven members of the local Ku Klux Klan.
