Sanosuke is at his favorite sukiyaki spot, Akabeko, where he typically leaves his bill on a tab. One of the staff, Tae, asks him to pick up a Nishiki painting from a nearby shop for her. Although Sanosuke isn't particularly interested in art, he stumbles upon a piece that captivates him. It’s a portrait of Captain Sagara, the man he admired as his mentor during his time with the Sekiho Army. With excitement in his heart, Sanosuke heads off to meet the artist behind the painting.
