The Ewing family is taken aback when they learn that James is actually J.R.'s child. A tanker accident leads to a public relations disaster for both Ewing Oil and Weststar. Meanwhile, Michelle tries to manipulate both Carter and J.R. for her own gain. In a separate storyline, Vanessa strives to persuade her son to go back to Europe.
