In the town of Ellendon, a serial killer is incinerating his victims' bodies. Amidst the chaos, Enwright brings junior DC Martin Simmons onto the team, much to Creegan’s irritation, as he immediately feels a strong aversion to the newcomer. When another victim is discovered, Creegan connects the dots, uncovering a disturbing link to a psychiatric hospital that was destroyed by fire in 1989.
