S5E1 Clearly, I'm More Intelligent Than You

The competition kicks off from Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, introducing some intriguing twists. Teams that finish last in non-elimination legs face penalties, and a new strategy called the Yield comes into play, allowing one team to halt another team's progress for a limited time, though it can only be used once throughout the race. As the teams rush to catch their flights, some fail to notice that a later departure actually lands them in Uruguay first. They tackle a series of clues, hop on ferries, and transport meat, eventually arriving at the first Detour: Zips or Chips. Despite injuring himself early on, Jim makes the quick flight. Meanwhile, two teams make a crucial error and leave the pit stop, yet manage to avoid elimination.
