Clive, now a QC, is enjoying a celebration with friends and colleagues when the festivities take a sudden turn. Alan's son gets arrested on charges of murdering a police officer, casting a shadow over the event. Meanwhile, Martha struggles with her emotions and turns to alcohol after an Inspector falsely testifies in court, trying to pin the blame on her client.
