As Hershberg's mental state deteriorates, he turns to Kuzak for assistance with the case of a woman who shot a police officer. Meanwhile, Rogoff punishes Van Owen by assigning him to night court for aiding Appleton. Perkins makes a desperate bargain to secure the safe return of her son. In a different courtroom, tensions escalate as McKenzie and Brackman's men face off in a heated basketball match against a competing firm. Markowitz surprises Kelsey with a reimagined office for Christmas, and after McKenzie extends an apology, Sifuentes agrees to come back to the firm.
