Shahrbanoo Sadat

**Shahrbanoo Sadat** is an Afghan filmmaker originally from Iran. Prior to the Taliban’s return to power, she split her time between Copenhagen and Kabul; since 2021, she has been based in Hamburg. Her earliest short, *Vice Versa One* (2010), earned a spot at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight in 2011. Five years later, her debut feature *Wolf and Sheep* won the Art Cinema Award in that same prestigious section. She followed it with *The Orphanage* (2019), which also screened at Directors’ Fortnight, continuing her semi-autobiographical cycle set in 1980s Afghanistan. Her upcoming feature, *No Good Men*, is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in 2026.
