Nicole Asava

Nicole Asava (she/her/they/them, previously known as Nicole Pasquale) is a multi-talented queer actor, comedian, director, and writer, hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, and currently based in Los Angeles and New York City. With a rich cultural background as a Thai-Chinese-American, Nicole has made significant contributions to the comedy scene, particularly through improvisation and sketch performance. They honed their craft at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCBT) in New York and Second City in Chicago, earning recognition as a finalist for the NBC/UCBT Diversity Scholar program in 2016.

Nicole has graced the stage in numerous acclaimed NYC comedy productions, including Asian AF, the improvised This American Life, and Jo Firestone's Live Dubbed Sitcoms. As a theatre director, they have overseen more than twenty comedic shows and plays, showcasing their creative vision at venues like Boogiemanja and the Player's Theater Short Play Festival.

In addition to their stage work, Nicole has produced comedic content for various platforms, including Elite Daily, MTV, and College Humor, and served as the host for Mic.com's daily news video series, Mic Check. For over three years, they led WOKE AF: A Mind-Opening Variety Show, which focused on social issues through comedy, later evolving it into AMP, a finalist in the Yes And Laughter Lab pitch program.
